Voir Dire Boot Camp

May 16 - 18, 2025
1:00 pm - 12:00 pm

Baylor Law’s Voir Dire Boot Camp is an intensive, hands-on training experience designed to prepare Practice Court students for one of the most critical—and often most intimidating—phases of trial: jury selection. Led by seasoned prosecutors and sitting judges, the Boot Camp equips future litigators with practical strategies for case evaluation, voir dire preparation, and successfully identifying and challenging jurors for cause.

Over multiple days, students engage in targeted workshops, hear directly from the bench about common mistakes and how to avoid them, and receive personalized feedback through realistic mock voir dire exercises with community volunteers. The goal is simple but ambitious: prepare students to conduct a competent, confident voir dire on day one of their legal careers.
