Student Opportunities
The CDO encourages all students to get practical experience outside the classroom during their law school careers. You can obtain this experience by working with law firms, governmental agencies, and public interest organizations. You may be able to work as a paid clerk or as an unpaid intern or extern (for class credit).
For more information regarding externships, internships, and clerkships, click any of the links at the bottom of this page.
Some employers post their student positions with the law school or interview students on campus. However, many students acquire positions by conducting their own research and making direct applications. The CDO is happy to help you research and develop a job search strategy.
One of the advantages of the quarter system is that you may be in a position to apply for internship and clerkship opportunities during times of the year other than the summer, when there may be fewer applicants from other schools. Contact the CDO if you are interested in exploring these opportunities.
