Getting to Know Tyler Bischoff
Why did you choose Baylor Law?
I chose Baylor Law for the nationally ranked trial advocacy program and the Practice Court program. While I had heard about the horrors of Practice Court, I knew that I couldn’t become a top-tier litigator without some pain and challenges along the way.
What do you do for fun/to relax outside of Baylor Law?
I go to the gym every morning. Law school is very sedentary, so I need something active to do. I also love mowing the lawn, as odd as it may sound. After a week of mental fatigue, it is a mindless task with immediate feedback. Beyond those two things, I love spending time with my family (yes, I started law school with a 2-week-old.)
What do you plan to do after graduation?
I undoubtedly would like to be a litigator. The dream is to ultimately litigate Constitutional issues. Immediately after graduation, I hope to practice litigation in family law, healthcare, or real estate/property issues.
What advice would you give to someone thinking about law school?
It is not a choice you should take lightly. Attending law school should be something you want. I have considered law school for years and ultimately committed after a lot of thought and prayer. And I absolutely LOVE every minute of it. I have peers who it would appear were not 100% committed and still chose to “give it a try.” Those individuals are miserable, and I highly doubt that feeling will change after school. Law school will change who you are and how you think and view the world. As with any growth, there is a high level of discomfort. You need to be sure you want it!
