The Quarter System
At Baylor Law School, our quarter system offers a dynamic, fast-paced legal education designed to closely mirror the demands of real-world legal practice. With four full quarters each year and three entering classes, our students engage in rigorous 9-week terms where every class session delivers substantive material—no time is wasted.
This focused approach enables students to earn their law degree in just 27 months, equipping them with critical skills more quickly than the traditional semester system.
A Faster Pace - A Reflection of Reality
The quarter system is not only faster, but it also better reflects the realities of legal practice. Like managing real caseloads with tight deadlines, students in the quarter system must stay engaged and adaptable. They experience frequent transitions between quarters with minimal breaks, much like the fast pace of a lawyer’s workload. By the time our students graduate, they are fully prepared for the intensity and complexity of professional life, making them ready to hit the ground running in your firm
