Ways to Join the Baylor Law Review.
Grading on by First-Year Grades
Any Baylor Law student who has completed three quarters at Baylor Law and whose grade point average after their first three quarters falls within the top 15% of the student's entering class is invited to membership on the Baylor Law Review.
Grading on by Upper-Quarter Grades
Any Baylor Law student having completed at least four quarters, whose cumulative grade point average is equal to or greater than the Cumulative Grade-On GPA when posted, is invited to membership on the Baylor Law Review, provided the student will be a member for at least three quarters before graduating.
The Faculty Adviser calculates the official Cumulative Grade-On GPA. It is determined by adding the GPA cut-off for each of the preceding four classes of First-Year Grade-Ons and dividing by four.
Writing on by Competition
Any Baylor Law student who, after completing at least two quarters at Baylor Law, has a grade point average of 2.5 or greater, completed all the requirements for the write-on competition, and is selected for membership by the Membership Committee is invited to membership on the Baylor Law Review, provided the student will be a member for at least three quarters before graduating.
Writing on by Publication
A Baylor Law student not already a member who submits a note or comment for publication in the Law Review, whose GPA is 2.5 or greater at the time of submission, and whose note or comment is selected for publication is invited to membership on the Baylor Law Review, provided the student will be a member for at least three quarters before graduating unless exceptional circumstances exist.
Grading on Following a Transfer
A transfer student whose pre-transfer law school GPA is 2.5 or greater, was in the top 15% of the student's pre-transfer entering class, and whose GPA at Baylor is 2.5 or greater, is invited to membership on the Baylor Law Review, provided the student will be a member for at least three quarters before graduating. Transfer students are not eligible to grade on to Law Review in any other way.
