Graduating exceptional lawyers with the skills to make a difference in the lives of others takes more than professors who lecture, write papers and give exams. It takes a faculty whose shared commitment to excellence and uncompromising standards to propel students to realize their potential. Here at Baylor Law, they are among the best in the nation.
Members of the Baylor Law faculty are accomplished scholars and practitioners, most with significant experience in full-time practice, having honed their craft in the courtrooms and boardrooms of the real world. Many are nationally recognized leaders in their respective fields. Many advise legislative councils, serve as expert witnesses and mentor practicing lawyers. All remain on the front lines—practicing what they teach—consulting, and engaging with developments in the law as they unfold in real-time.
As students progress through the program, they will come to know their professors not just as lecturers, but as mentors, coaches, and advisors. Small classes promote give and take. Feedback is one-on-one. Office doors remain open. And the Capstone, Practice Court and Interscholastic Competition experiences allow students in-depth access to faculty mentorship that far outpaces the norm at traditional law schools.
It’s not surprising that, for many Baylor Lawyers, their fondest memories of law school are of the professors who went above and beyond to invest in their success. Nor is it surprising that the greatest measure of success for Baylor Law professors is the young lawyers who leave here and go on to change the world.
