Baylor Law's transactional teams offer students real-world opportunities to improve their transactional law skills through preparation for, and participation in, transactional law competitions.
Some competitions are focused on specific subject areas, such as sports law or healthcare law. Other competitions concentrate instead on various business or corporate contexts, such as mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, or start-up enterprises.
The formats of these transactional law competitions vary. Still, the skills honed by student competitors include legal analysis, drafting, client counseling, and negotiating skills in transactional problem solving—the very skills used daily by transactional lawyers at a law firm or in-house legal department.
