Increase Your Visibility at Baylor Law
At Baylor Law School, employers have a unique opportunity to enhance their visibility and connect with top-tier legal talent. Our Career Development Office offers multiple ways to engage with students before they make their employment decisions, from hosting events to participating in professional development programs. Whether you’re looking to mentor future attorneys, recruit 1L students, or showcase your firm through a mock interview session, we provide tailored opportunities to build lasting relationships with our students. Contact the Career Development Office to learn more about how you can get involved or if you are interested in the opportunities listed below:
The Career Development Office at Baylor Law is always interested in employers hosting a reception or an event on or near campus. Waco offers many suitable venues for off-campus gatherings, including the Baylor Club in spectacular McLane Stadium. This is a good way for you and our students to get to know each other in an informal setting.
Another effective way to connect with our students is through participation in one of our speaking opportunities. The Professional Development Program is a graduation requirement for all students and mandates 18 seminar hours of credit (similar to CLE). We always seek practicing lawyers to present on topics such as law firm economics, client development, time management, technology, ethical and professional responsibility issues, etc. While single or standalone speakers offer many of our presentations, we also host several panel discussions each year. You might consider collaborating with a colleague or reconnecting with one of your former classmates. We want to hear from you if you have an idea for a topic and would like to participate.
Baylor Law students use BearTracks (12Twenty), our online recruitment system, to apply for jobs, participate in on-campus interview programs, and conduct general employer research. Employers can use this system to share information with students about their organization.
Our first-year students are eager to find employment during their first summer, and while few employers take advantage of connecting with students during their first summer, it may be to your advantage to recruit 1L students. Employers are encouraged to post positions for 1L summer internships in BearTracks (12Twenty) and to participate in our Spring On-Campus Interview Program.
We offer several opportunities for practicing lawyers to mentor Baylor Law students. If you're interested in participating, please contact the CDO.
We rely on the assistance of practicing lawyers to prepare our students for real-world interviews. Consider serving as the interviewing attorney for a law student by holding a mock interview and providing constructive feedback.
