Juvenile Justice Clinic
Ready to take your courtroom skills to the next level?
You can dive into real-world court proceedings with our Juvenile Justice Clinic. Open to second-year and third-year students, this clinic gives you the chance to represent actual clients in front of sitting judges in live cases. You’ll gain invaluable hands-on experience that sharpens your advocacy skills and prepares you for life as a trial lawyer. Don’t just learn the law—practice it!
By appointment of the Court, the Juvenile Justice Clinic has represented over 800 juveniles at their initial detention hearings. Under the supervision of Prof. Josh Borderud, students meet with the prosecutor, probation officers, parents or guardians, and the accused to gather information about the case. For Baylor Law School students, this is a crash course in thinking on their feet, learning how to address the court confidently, and effectively advocating for clients.
