Storytelling is woven into the Scottish DNA — the sea, the fishermen, the legends, the heroes. In St. Andrews, we draw on that lineage because the best advocates are storytellers: they don’t just present facts; they move people.
At the Academy of the Advocate, you'll learn from judges, trial lawyers, and award-winning professors, and learn the art of storytelling in three stages. First, the campfire story where you master voice, rhythm, and tension. Next, the forensic story where cross-examinations and depositions reveal character through detail. Finally, courtroom storytelling where you deliver openings, examinations, and closings that hold attention and make the law come alive.
