Baylor Law Professor Laura Hernández to Participate in Immigration Discussion at the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum

On Tuesday, October 5th at 7 pm, Professor Laura Hernández, a leading authority on immigration law and civil rights actions, will join a distinguished panel of policy experts at the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum’s Civil Discourse Series on U.S. Immigration Policy. The politically diverse panel will discuss current policy, areas of improvement in the future, and the legal structure that oversees the immigration process. The event is virtual, and attendees can register at the museum’s website, https://www.dhhrm.org/, under programs & events.
Professor Hernández is the driving force behind Baylor Law’s successful Baylor Law Immigration Clinic. To date, student volunteers overseen by Professor Hernández have assisted over 500 Waco area residents with their immigration needs completely free of charge.
"As citizens, it is so important to discuss serious policy issues, such as immigration, within a respectful, informed environment and I thank the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum for hosting this discussion," stated Professor Hernández, who added, "We all have the same common desire that our leaders make good policy decisions for our country."
Professor Hernández has written for numerous publications, including the Cornell Journal of Law and Policy, the Stanford Journal of Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, the Texas Hispanic Journal of Law and Policy, and the Southern California Review of Law and Social Justice.
