Gregory Passa
Assistant Professor of Law
Gregory Passa is a registered patent attorney and member of the Baylor Law faculty. His scholarship and teaching focuses on patent law and intellectual property.
Before joining Baylor Law, Professor Passa served as a Visiting Associate Professor of Law and Frank H. Marks Intellectual Property Law Fellow at the George Washington University Law School. He also served as Faculty at Columbia Law School, where he taught on patent prosecution and litigation. Professor Passa's scholarship has been published in the Journal of the Patent and Trademark Office Society.
Professor Passa worked as a patent litigator and prosecutor at multiple firms, and as a Chemical Engineering Patent Examiner for the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He has been recognized by the United States Patent and Trademark Office for his successful, pro bono prosecution work on behalf of low-income inventors. Professor Passa is also a listed inventor on a United States Patent.
Professor Passa received his J.D. from Columbia Law School, where he was a James Kent Scholar, his Master of Philosophy in Advanced Chemical Engineering at the University of Cambridge, where he received superior marks, and his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Northeastern University, where he graduated summa cum laude.
Gregory also serves as an Affiliated Associate Professor of Engineering and Computer Science, an appointment which reflects his commitment to legal expertise and technological innovation.
