Baylor Law School Moot Court Team Earns Third "Most Outstanding Law School" Title in Six Years
Baylor Law School’s Moot Court team made waves at the 33rd Annual Judge R. Brown Admiralty Moot Court Competition at the Charleston School of Law. For the third time in six years, Baylor Law claimed the top honor of Most Outstanding Law School. The award-winning team, coached by professors Lee Ann James (JD ’02) and Kayla Landeros (JD ’08), included Ben Amundson, Catherine LaTour, Rose Safranek, Erin Kitchenka, Dylan Evans, and Marshall Job.
In addition to the overall school championship, several team members earned individual and team honors: Ben Amundson and Catherine LaTour earned Second Place for Best Oral Advocacy Team, while Amundson was also recognized individually with Second Place for Best Oral Advocate. In the written competition, Marshall Job, Erin Kitchenka, and Dylan Evans secured Third Place for Best Respondent Brief.
The Judge John R. Brown Admiralty Moot Court Competition is widely recognized as a premier national maritime law competition. Preliminary rounds were held in historic downtown Charleston, with semifinals and the championship round argued before judges at the J. Waties Waring Judicial Center, United States District Court for the District of South Carolina.
