Baylor Law Participates in Roundtable Discussion with Secretary of Veterans Affairs Denis R. McDonough

On Friday, Thursday, February 9th, Rhasean Stephens, President of Baylor Law’s Veteran and Military Legal Society and Director of Clinical and Pro Bono Programs Josh Borderud attended a roundtable discussion with the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, Denis R. McDonough.

Among other topics, Secretary McDonough discussed the newly signed Pact ACT which seeks to extend medical coverage for Veterans and hire 55,000 employees this year through the VA.

Baylor Law 3L, U.S. Army Captain Rhasean Stephens, spoke with Secretary McDonough about extending the Yellow Ribbon Program. If coverage is extended, Student Veterans at Baylor Law would potentially pay nothing out of pocket for tuition.

At the end of the discussion, Rhasean Stephens and Veterans Affairs Secretary McDonough exchanged challenge coins to honor the connection between Baylor Law and the Department of Veteran Affairs.
