Katherine Sims
- Director of Student Affairs
Katherine Sims serves as Director of Student Affairs at Baylor Law School. A proud Baylor Lawyer and "double bear," she returned to her alma mater in 2016 and has dedicated her career to supporting law students as they navigate the challenges and opportunities of legal education.
In her role, Katherine leads initiatives that enhance the student experience and promote student well-being. She is particularly passionate about helping students develop the skills, habits, and support systems needed to thrive during law school and throughout their legal careers. In 2021, she partnered with Professor Bridget Fuselier to secure a Texas Bar Foundation grant that expanded Baylor Law's mental health and wellbeing programming. Katherine remains committed to advancing these efforts and creating meaningful opportunities that support students' personal, academic, and professional success.
Before transitioning to student life in 2023, Katherine served as Baylor Law's Director of Admissions and Financial Aid. Her professional journey also includes admissions roles at Atlanta's John Marshall Law School and Texas A&M University School of Law, as well as practice experience with King & Spalding LLP in Atlanta, GA. Across each stage of her career, she has been driven by a desire to serve and to help others achieve their goals.
Katherine earned her B.A. in Speech Communication from Baylor University in 2006 and her J.D. from Baylor Law School in 2011. Outside of work, Katherine enjoys staying active, traveling, spending time with her husband and dogs, and cheering on the Baylor Bears, Georgia Bulldogs, and Texas Rangers.
