David Anaya

  • Practice Court Associate

David Anaya serves as the Practice Court Associate and has lived in Waco long enough to call that home. His family originally moved from Mexico City to the little town of Glen Rose, TX as Christian missionaries. An Eagle Scout and UIL State champion, David attended his number one choice school in Baylor University where he earned a PA in Political Science with Honors and a minor in Leadership Studies graduating a year ahead of time. During his time in undergraduate, he competed in Model United Nations and served as an International Student Ambassador for the Center for Global Engagement, and Special Projects Assistant for the Dean’s Office of Student Learning and Engagement.

Immediately after graduation, David enrolled in the Baylor Joint Degree Program with Baylor University School of Law and Baylor’s George W. Truett Seminary. While in the program, he achieved naturalization as a US citizen and earned a coveted position in Montreat College’s Inklings Fellowship in conjunction with Oxford University. In May of 2024, David became the second student to ever complete the program earning both his JD and MDiv simultaneously.

In his work prior to serving as the Practice Court Associate, David worked for the Texas Department of Family and Protector Services as Assistant to the Austin Regional Attorney, and doing remote paralegal work for New Jersey firms Davis, Saperstein & Salomon, LLC,  Peter N. Davis & Associates, LLC, and the Tennessee firm Hughes & Coleman, LLP.

David is an avid fan of philosophy, theology, and impassioned debate. Reading a good C.S. Lewis book or listening to SCOTUS oral arguments on a weekend are choice hobbies. In his free time, David still maintains an emphasis on ministry work, assisting his father’s Hispanic mission in his capacities as Assistant Pastor.
