Alaina Gray-Schmiedlin

Alaina Gray-Schmiedlin serves as the Business and Transactional Law Associate at Baylor Law School, where she assists with the development and administration of the school’s business and transactional law curriculum and programming. Her work includes supporting the Baylor Law Entrepreneurship Clinic, The Closer National Invitational Transactional Law Competition, Business Law Boot Camp, the Transactional Law Practice Lab, Baylor’s transactional law teams, and other programming for students and alumni.

Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Alaina moved with her family to Houston, Texas as a child. She attended the University of Houston, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science with a minor in Psychology. During her undergraduate years, Alaina was actively involved with Alpha Chi Omega, serving as both President and Vice President of Finance. She also served as Vice President of Recruitment for the Houston Panhellenic Council. 

Before law school, Alaina spent six years coaching gymnastics, an experience she especially enjoyed for the opportunity to encourage young athletes, celebrate their progress, and build meaningful relationships with students and their families. Alaina later enrolled at Baylor Law School, where she developed a particular interest in business and transactional practice. She competed with Baylor’s Transactional Law Competition Team at the 2026 UCLA Transactional Law Competition, and has gained practical experience through an in-house counsel externship with Magnolia. Alaina graduated from Baylor Law School with her Juris Doctor in August 2026.

Outside of her professional and academic work, Alaina enjoys baking, crafting, and reading while hoping to take up needlepoint as a new creative hobby. She also enjoys spending time with her family and her golden retriever, Posie.
