During December, Baylor Law School students embraced the Christmas season by partnering with organizations across Waco to support children, families, and local nonprofits, reflecting the ongoing commitment to service within the Baylor Law mission. Students volunteered alongside local partners, including The Salvation Army of Waco/McLennan County, The Shepherd’s Heart, Pet Circle Regional Animal Center, Fuzzy Friends Rescue, and Waco Habitat for Humanity.

Several student organizations also led focused outreach efforts, showcasing their commitment to making a difference:

  • The Student Bar Association (SBA) read books to children at Bell’s Hill Elementary School.
  • The Christian Legal Society (CLS) collected items and packed shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child.
  • The Black Law Students Association (BLSA) read to students at J.H. Hines Elementary School and organized a donation drive for The Cove of Waco.
  • The Baylor Public Interest Legal Society (BPILS) gathered and wrapped gifts for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of McLennan County’s Angel Tree and, in a remarkable display of community support, raised over $8,000 for CASA through a foosball tournament and faculty auction.

Collectively, these efforts reflect Baylor Law School’s commitment to service and community engagement within the Waco community.
