Judge Ignacio Torteya, III, BA ’92, JD ’95, was sworn into office as President of the Federal Magistrate Judges Association (FMJA) on July 15, 2025, during the annual members’ meeting held in Pittsburgh.

Nikki L. Laing, BBA ’06, JD ’12, joined Hallett & Perrin’s Tax and Trusts and Estates Practice Groups in Dallas, Texas.  

Katie Wolters Mayo, JD ’15, LLM ’21, has joined DocuSign as Product Counsel, supporting key product verticals.

Jess Gambrell, JD '19, joined The Crowder Law Firm as an Associate Attorney in Plano, Texas.

Rogers Pope, Jr, BBA ’89, JD ’92, was named Chairman of the Board of Texas Bank and Trust in Longview, Texas. 

Mark D. Siegmund, JD’19, was recognized as a 2025 Waco Under 40 honoree by the Greater Waco Chamber.

Cheryl L. Blount, JD ’11, joined Fisher Phillips as a Partner in Houston, Texas. 

Saba F. Syed, JD ’13, has been featured on D Magazine’s “Best Lawyers in Dallas 2025” list.
