Partners for Your Future
We are in the midst of a significant capital project involving renovating and/or re-purposing several areas of the law center with updates to better support our students. The enhancements include a centrally located student success suite, active learning spaces, and moving the IT help desk for more accessible support.
With a project of this nature, we know that there will be noise, dust, and other inconveniences requiring patience on the part of us all.
To help alleviate challenges with your studies, please bookmark this page to stay updated on renovations and the possible impact on classes and study spaces.

What you can expect regarding access with the Second-Floor construction:
Partitions in the construction zone on the second-floor limit access between the library and classroom wings. You will not be able to walk from one wing to the other through the second-floor corridor until the completion of the Student Success Center.
Students have access to the following study areas:
- Reading rooms in the Law Library. While you will be able to access the second floor reading room during this phase, we encourage you to study on the first or third floors of the library.
- Study carrels throughout the Law Library. (We are moving some of the second-floor carrels to the small room adjacent to the second floor reading room.)
- Baylor Law classrooms when not reserved for a class, student organization meeting, or other event. You can access the Law School Event Calendar while on campus at https://law.baylor.edu/calendars-events/law-school-event-calendars. Week of July 15, 2024
- The Waco Fire Marshal’s Office will inspect the fire alarms in the Student Success Center on Thursday, July 18. To prepare for the inspection, Rogers O’Brien needs to test the fire alarms on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. The tests and inspection will include all the strobes and sirens for the building because we cannot isolate the alarms in the renovated areas.
- With this testing, it is recommended that you delay arrival to the building \until 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings as the noise and lights will be interruptive for studies.
- We do not have a time for the Fire Marshal’s inspection on Thursday, and it is unlikely we will receive notice before they arrive. If we do get more information regarding timing, it will be posted here.
