Stephanie Mabry
Senior Director of Development
Stephanie Dunnam Mabry brings over 15 years of public service to Baylor Law and its mission as the Senior Director of Development. She received her Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from Baylor University and a Master of Arts in Politics and Society in Historical Perspective from Utrecht University.
Stephanie’s family has a lineage of Baylor Lawyers, and she always intended to go to law school. However, a semester abroad during her senior year with Baylor in Maastricht changed that plan in an instant. Upon completion of her undergraduate studies, Stephanie spent many years living, working, or studying abroad. Her main form of transportation was by boat while teaching English in Bangkok, Thailand, and by bicycle as a graduate student in The Netherlands. She spent two years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Grozdyovo, Bulgaria, where she learned the art of ambassadorship, the Bulgarian language, and the importance of keeping the fire lit throughout the bitter winter months with no central heating. Immediately following her Peace Corps service, Stephanie returned to The Netherlands where her independent travels began, to study the political, economic, and social impact of international humanitarian intervention.
Stephanie moved back to her hometown of Waco in 2012 and has been a committed advocate, fundraiser, and spokesperson in the nonprofit sector since that time. In her most recent role, Stephanie was responsible for the oversight and execution of the United Way Annual Campaign throughout McLennan County. One of her many accomplishments as a seasoned fundraiser includes securing United Way’s largest gift in its 98-year history from a single, living household, and then renewing that gift the following year. In another fundraising role, Stephanie was responsible for the oversight and execution of a multi-million-dollar capital project.
Stephanie was recognized by the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce as a Waco Under 40 honoree in 2021, is president of the Central Texas Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and is an executive committee member on her children’s school board.
She is married to John Mabry (J.D. ‘95), who is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law and a former Texas State Representative. They have two young children who keep their home busy and full of laughter.
