Shad Michael Robinson
U.S. Bankruptcy Judge United States Bankruptcy Court - Western District of Texas
Shad was appointed by the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit in February 2023 to serve as a bankruptcy judge in the Western District of Texas, Austin and Midland Division.
Prior to being appointed as a bankruptcy judge, Judge Robinson served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel for Alliance Bank Central Texas. He handled all legal matters for Alliance Bank Central Texas (including bankruptcy filings, contract review, workouts, foreclosures, and litigation management), advised on corporate holding company matters, assisted with compliance and examinations, assisted with growth and acquisitions, advised management and loan officers on miscellaneous matters, and prepares loan documents.
Judge Robinson was an associate and partner at Haley & Olson law firm for 22 years and also served as a law clerk for the Honorable Leif M. Clark, former U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the Western District of Texas in San Antonio.
In private practice, Judge Robinson represented financial institutions, individuals, small businesses, and large corporations in collections matters, creditor rights enforcement and litigation, workouts, contract negotiation, commercial disputes, real estate, uniform commercial code issues, and commercial law litigation.
While in private practice, he assisted individuals and business entities throughout the State of Texas and also worked on matters throughout the United States, including bankruptcy cases in California, Delaware, New York, and Pennsylvania.
Judge Robinson was admitted to practice by the Texas Bar in 1999 and is licensed to practice in the State of Texas and the United States District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western Districts of Texas. He is also admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit.
