Austin Byrom
Director of Career Development
Austin C. Byrom brings student service experience and commitment to Baylor Law’s mission as the Director of Career Development. Austin received his Bachelor of Arts in Government from Grand Canyon University in 2018 and his Juris Doctor from Baylor Law in 2021.
Prior to joining Baylor Law’s team, Austin was an associate attorney at Hartline Barger. There, he managed construction, personal injury, and collections cases. His desire to serve students in higher education led him to an instructor position at Grand Canyon University, where he taught pre-law courses.
While a student at Baylor Law, Austin was a leader of several student organizations including the Military and Veterans Legal Society and Baylor Law Review. He also won the Baylor Law Moot Court Spring 2019 competition and represented Baylor Law in national and regional moot court teams. In addition to clerking with Hartline Barger, he also externed in the Western District of Texas for District Judge Alan Albright and Magistrate Judge Jeffrey C. Manske and served as an intern in Dallas County for District Judge Martin Hoffman. Austin served as a Student Ambassador and was actively engaged with the Career Development Office.
His experience in student services began during his undergraduate studies at Grand Canyon University where he was a Junior University Development Counselor. In that capacity, he advised post-graduate nursing and education students.
As Director of Career Development, Austin will prioritize promoting diversity and inclusivity, enhancing student resources, and contributing to a student-oriented culture. He looks forward to counseling students, developing career services programs, and cultivating employer relationships with the goal of securing excellent employment opportunities for Baylor Law students.
