Curriculum

The Baylor Law School faculty has developed the curriculum to allow the school to train competent professionals equipped to begin practicing law.  The school fulfills its objectives by requiring students to complete a broad course of study, with many of the courses completed in a prescribed sequence.    Requiring students to complete this rigorous course of study is the best method to ensure that Baylor graduates not only know basic legal doctrine, but also possess core lawyering skills and have experience using this knowledge and skill to perform a range of lawyering tasks.

The field of law has become very diversified, and law schools must strive to meet the demands of students with a wide range of professional interests.  Baylor law school meets these demands by offering six areas of concentration, which students complete by taking a group of elective and required courses.  Students seeking greater diversity may enter the joint degree program, which is administered with other schools on the Baylor University campus.
