Advocacy Competitions

Competitors are selected through try-outs and through outstanding performance in intraschool competitions and advocacy exercises. The teams spend many hours perfecting their knowledge of the relevant law and gaining a thorough understanding of the facts of their particular case. Baylor has a long record of success in competing at the national level in both moot court and mock trial competitions. In fact, because of its standing as one of the top advocacy programs in the nation, Baylor is consistently invited to the prestigious national Tournament of Champions.

“Without a doubt Baylor’s practice court and evidence classes prepared me for actual practice. At the conclusion of my first hearing as a lawyer, the District Court judge inquired as to whether I was a Baylor attorney. I proudly replied, ‘Yes, Your Honor,’ and he stated he could tell.”
— Claudine Jackson,
